adoption

by mildred lane
(morristown,tn. usa)

I was able to retire from being a RN at 56 because I had been very frugal and invested in real estate but I was miserable being retired. I tried many different areas of work but was still unhappy. I wound up seeing a psychiatrist and he said to go back to my youth to see what made me happy. I had always loved dolls, babies and became a foster mother for infants. Boy, was I happy and at age 60 I adopted a 6 day old boy. I never considered funds to support him. To years later when I signed up for SS I was told that I could draw on him. I have been able to give him a better education, home paid for, investments, life insurance. He is now 14 and I am 73 and we are happy. What I thought would be a struggle to raise him has turned out to be fun and frugal..
